Dr. Danzer reviews the research surrounding therapist self-disclosure and addresses such questions as: What types of self-disclosures work best? When should a therapist self-disclose and with which populations? And, what are the drawbacks of not self-disclosing?

Graham Danzer is a research-informed practitioner with training in multiple therapeutic disciplines and 12+ years of experience in forensics, hospitals, and community mental health providing evaluation, as well as individual and group therapy to seriously mentally ill individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds and with significant histories of dangerousness. Research on severely mentally ill, at-risk, and cultural minority populations has resulted in the publishing of 5 clinically-focused textbooks, 18 peer-reviewed journal articles, and 26 professional conference presentations. Accomplishments in research and practice have been recognized with 17 merit-based commendations from 2006-present.
